2014 can be marked as the birth year for Apache brand. After 4 years of painstaking endurance and consistent endeavor for project planning and construction of the plant, Apache cement has come into life. Therefore, we are proud to set the major milestone for APACHE cement as it launches its fi rst commercial product this year.As Myanmar is marching towards a new direction, we have witnessed visible changes in the country in many sectors every day. One of the highly visible changes is in the construction sector. With the development of the country in a relatively short period of time, Myanmar is facing a serious lag behind in the construction sector. In order to meet the huge surge in the demand of infrastructure, residential and commercial facilities, we forecast that Myanmar will have to pace up with the constructional activities for a few decades to come. In respect to these reformations of the country, the supply for the quality building materials becomes one of the major concerns to keep up with the surging demand. The per capita consumption of cement, one of the essential building materials for the construction and infrastructure development, in Myanmar is approximately 100kg per capital, which is about 50% lower than that of its comparable ASEAN sister countries. In 2013, Myanmar consumption of cement volume is estimated to be 6 million tons. Of the total consumption, Myanmar has imported approximately 3 million tons of its cement supply, which accounts for 50% of country’s cement consumption, from our neighboring countries such as China, India, Thailand and Vietnam. The major trigger for the import of cement from broad is attributable for both the ineffi ciencies in the current local production as well as the hike in the demand for cement. With the capability of producing high quality cement locally, Apache cement can not only substitute import products but create jobs locally. With the annual production plan close to 0.5 million tons, Apache cement helps reserve the country’s income spent on the importation of the cement from abroad. In addition, Apache provides job for 600 citizens, where 60% of the workforce comes from Pyi Nyaung region and its vicinity, which is considered one of the least developed regions in the country. With the development of the organization, Apache is committed to the sustainable development of its human resources and environment. Apache has already initiated its exertion for the Corporate Social Responsibility in the educational and health care development of Pyi Nyaung community, and will extend this exertion to the country wide. We strongly regard all the stakeholders for its persistent support and courage in developing our sustainable business. Hereby, we would like to express our health felt appreciation and great regards to all our stakeholders. We are committed to strengthen and maintain our long lasting relationship to create a better future for our country together.
